We will not allow an animal to suffer needlessly. If a pig becomes ill and an antibiotic is recommended by a veterinarian to treat a specific problem, we will use it. This is a rare occurrence, as our pigs live in a healthy, clean environment where they can engage in natural behavior. We allow plenty of time—far exceeding the period required by law—for the antibiotic to leave the pig's system.

Factory farms constantly administer large doses of sub-therapeutic antibiotics to all of their pigs by mixing it into the daily feed.
